Prof. Anat Prior
I am a psycholinguist, and I’m fascinated by how two (or more) languages interact in a speaker’s
mind, and in the mechanisms leading to individual differences in language learning and
processing. Our social and educational environment is increasingly multilingual, and language
learning has become a central academic and personal achievement. An in-depth understanding of
how language is represented, processed and learned in bilingual and multilingual individuals can
reveal unique insights into the quintessentially human capacity for language. Such understanding
also has immediate educational implications. A clear understanding of the processes underlying
language use and language learning will lead to evidence-based instruction methods that help
individuals maximize their potential and attain their goals.
