Prof. Orly Rubinsten
I study the cognitive and physiological basis that promotes learning, especially in subjects such as mathematics, physics, engineering, and computers, as well as the variables that impair this learning (such as stressful situations or individual differences). In my research, I use convergent methodologies – from behavioral measures (e.g., reaction time and accuracy) through physiological measures of cognitive effort and emotion regulation (e.g., pupil diameter). and attention (eye movements, to neuroimaging techniques (e.g., ERP). In addition to answering basic questions about thought processes and emotions, our goal is to inform and promote educational practice and policy.
